Around menopause, your cycle and how you feel can change over many months. If you note what happens and when, you can describe it more precisely at your doctor's appointment: on paper with the template below, or in an app such as Luna.
This page helps you keep records. It does not explain symptoms and is not a substitute for medical advice: whether something is related to menopause and what you can do about it is for you and your doctor to decide.
The table fits on one page. Print this page or save it as a PDF; only the template and its heading are printed.
| Date | Bleeding (flow) | Hot flushes / night sweats | Sleep | Mood | Other symptoms | Question or note |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Record what you notice without trying to work out the cause; brief notes are enough. Take the overview to your next appointment, so you do not have to reconstruct from memory what happened when.
Entries about bleeding and symptoms are health data. For any app, check where they are stored and who can read them. What to look for is explained in our guide “Period tracker privacy”.
If you prefer an app: in Luna you can set perimenopause or menopause as your life stage, and the app adapts its views to it.
Luna is intended for lifestyle, wellbeing and self-observation and does not replace a medical assessment. Discuss what your symptoms mean and whether any treatment is right for you with your doctor.
The template above is free. Luna has a free basic version; some features require payment. Prices and subscription periods are shown in the app before purchase. Luna requires an account and is available to people aged 16 and over.
Your bleeding, symptom and mood entries are encrypted on your device (AES-256) before they are sent to servers in the EU; some associated details, such as update times, remain readable.
Luna is an app by icoso consulting S.L. in Santander, Spain. In the UK App Store it is listed as “Luna Cycle to Menopause”: App Store · Google Play
Yes. Luna is one example: with perimenopause or menopause set as your life stage, you can record bleeding, hot flushes, night sweats and your mood. Luna does not replace a medical assessment. Other apps exist for this too; when comparing, also check what they cost and where they store your data.
No. For many people the template above on paper is enough. An app mainly helps if you want to collect your entries over many months in one place or have them on several devices.
Your notes from the last few months: when you had bleeding, which symptoms occurred and how often, how you slept, which medication and supplements you take, and your questions. You and your doctor can then decide which details are relevant.
Your tracking and journal entries are stored encrypted on servers in the EU; some associated details remain readable. Standard mode keeps a server-secured copy of your key for recovery; Maximum Privacy mode removes it, and if you forget your password you need your recovery key. If you use Sofía, the optional AI features, selected health information and your chat messages are processed in readable form on our servers and by the AI provider in the EU.
